Courtney + Mike | Part Two

A while back I promised more photos of these two little love birds... and here I am finally delivering on that promise. I could STILL post more photos (and probably will at some point) - we shot at many locations throughout Madison and I have many favorites :)

After walking down State Street, we shot in and around the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art (MMoCA). I was in LOVE with the glass staircase and the light pouring in!!



And here we are at the top...

So... I had actually rented a lens to use for this session, but it didn't arrive when it was supposed to (darn FedEx). BUT, it did arrive the next morning after our session - so we decided to have another little mini-session... in the rain. And I'm so glad we did :)

Day two took place at the Olbrich Botanical Gardens. Beautiful colors and despite the rain the light was perfect too. Not to mention I've always wanted to do a fun session with a couple and an umbrella in the rain. I didn't stay as dry, but I didn't mind ;)








I'm not a big user of textures on photos, but thought this was sort of fun..



Court and Mike, I had such a great time with you guys - such naturals in front of the camera you are :) Can not WAIT until your wedding in August!!

Sweet Max | Newborn Photographer

Last week I met up with this adorable little guy Max. He was just 8 days old and stole my heart. The perfect little Christmas present if you ask me.











Oh how I love newborn sessions. If you are expecting soon and interested in a session, please contact me for some special, portfolio-building rates! (it is best to contact me while you are pregnant and schedule the session within the first two weeks of your little one being born).

This will be my last official session I blog for a while as things slow down this winter. I will update with some re-visits to past sessions and news as it happens in my business and personal life.

For now, thanks to all my clients who have helped me launch my business this year and I look forward to what the New Year brings.

It amazes me how fast time flies by...how fast ONE YEAR flies by. And in that one year, how many things can change. Amazing.

Just one year ago, I was so very very new to photography and my good friend Dawn allowed me to practice my skills on her new baby boy, Evan. My how things have changed - in both their world AND mine!

Now Evan is running around, full of energy and full of smiles and laughs!!

He was VERY interested in my camera...


...and Evan loves his big brother!














Thank you so much Dawn for your support this past year - through many, many changes - you've been in my corner, cheering me on and helping me through what has certainly been the craziest year ever. I'm so happy to have captured these memories for you and your family - it's the least I can do. :) Love you!

The Gabay Family | Hudson, WI Family Photographer

A couple of weeks ago, I met up with my sister-in-law and her family in Hudson, WI. Unfortunately, just as we arrived at the location for photos - the clouds rolled in and it became cold and windy. We took a few, but then decided to have a "part two" the following weekend when we were all getting together again in Milwaukee.

Between the two "mini-sessions" I think we got some great shots! :)

Courtney + Mike | Madison, WI Wedding Photographer

This is just a small preview of the many many maaaany photos I took of this couple. Courtney and Mike.... good friends of mine that go wayyyy back to grade school and remain to be good friends. I could go on and on - but I will save that for a second (or third?) post of their photos. For now - I'm heading off for a day with my hubby, but I know Courtney (and MIKE!) are anxiously waiting to see some of their photos...

These are but a small sliver of the many gorgeous photos from the day - I will post much more later. I promise. ;)

Courtney and Mike live in Madison and had numerous ideas for fun locations. We started off outside the Union on Lake Mendota.

This was one of the very first shots I snapped and it's one of my favorites...

We had many other photos from inside the Union as well, but for now - I'm moving on to our walk down State Street.


I love this photo too - but only because I know what Courtney was laughing about! ;)
